When you decide to take CBD oil, besides choosing a quality brand, it is also important to establish your therapeutic dose. Most CBD products on the market will not indicate the recommended amount in the manual. What is the reason? Let's sort out each factor below.

CBD Stimulates The Endocannabinoid System

Everyone has an endocannabinoid system, it is the natural cannabis-like molecule produced by the human body. It is also characterized by their ability to activate cannabinoid receptors like CB1 and CB2. However, the endogenous cannabinoid system varies between individuals. This will be taken into account when we determine the ideal dose of CBD.

For Medical Treatment

CBD is commonly used to treat a wide range of medical conditions with minimal side effects, such as seizure disorder (epilepsy), anxiety, muscle disorder, chronic pain, Parkinson disease, and many other conditions. CBD oil dosage and the treatment duration are largely dependent on the condition that CBD is being dosed for. Other factors such as age, weight and metabolic health also need to be taken into account. The following CBD dosage recommendations are based on research trials, publications, and patient experience. (For Reference Only)

  • Lack of Appetite for cancer patients: 2.5mg THC + 20mg CBD per day for 4 weeks;

  • Chronic pain: 10 to 30 mg per day for 25 days;

  • Epilepsy: 25-50 mg per day for 4-5 months;

  • Sleep disorders: 50-160mg taken orally every day for 4-6 weeks;

  • Huntington's disease: 10 mg per day for 6 weeks;

  • Multiple sclerosis: 2mg THC + 15mg CBD twice a day for 8 weeks;

  • Schizophrenia: 40-1200 mg per day for 4 weeks;

  • Glaucoma: 20-40 mg per day for 4 weeks. Note: Do not recommend taking more than 40mg, it may elevate intraocular pressure.

CBD’s Biphasic Effect

Cannabis compounds have biphasic properties, which means that low and high doses of the same substances may produce opposite effects. Small doses of cannabinoids may have positive therapeutic effects, but big doses tend to produce opposite effects. Oftenly, taking too much CBD can amplify anxiety, paranoid, and emotional disorders.

Although we knew CBD doesn’t come with any side effects, taking excessive does may not be as good as intermediate does. We have made a CBD dosage recommendation table based on your weight and your discomfort level (such as pain level). Use it as a starting point and adjust or reduce the dosage accordingly.

Weight 25-40kg 40-70kg 70-110kg 110kg+
Low 9mg 12mg 18mg 22.5mg
Medium 12mg 15mg 22.5mg 30mg
High 15mg 18mg 27mg 45mg

CBD Vapes

NOX CBD Oil Pod Drops

Vaping CBD oil is another one common alternative to consuming CBD.  When CBD is vaporized and inhaled directly into the lung, it is absorbed into the bloodstream much more faster than when digested by the stomach. It means you will feel the effects of CBD much faster by vaping. With a vaporizer, it also makes the process portable, discreet, and convenient. If you are curious about how much CBD dosage you can approximately obtain from each puff, here is a quick chart. (For Reference Only)

General Guidelines

In order to find the dosage that suits your situation, you can start with the minimum dose, which is the most appropriate way  to relieve symptoms.

Do not increase the dose for three days and it gives our body some time to respond. Increase or decrease the dose accordingly over the next three days. If you feel any discomfort after taking it, please stop immediately and seek professional advice.
